- The Hitmen Termite and Pest Control

Termite Swarm Season

Full Service Termite Control

With Spring time comes sunshine, flowers and... termites. Termite season is upon us. Here are some simple ways to prevent these pests from damaging your home:

  1. Keep the area around your home clean. Wood piles, construction debris and even clogged gutters can retain moisture and provide food for termites.
  2. Plants and soil can also hold moisture, providing a safe haven for termites to enter. Plant trees a good distance from your house and trim vines and bushes away from your home’s foundation. Keep soil graded down to keep it from contacting your siding.
  3. Have your house inspected every 3-5 years. Early diagnosis can prevent expensive treatment and repair measures.

Safe, Natural, Environmental, Organic Pest Control Tip

Many Pest Control companies promise to provide services that are, “Safe for children and pets,” “Not harmful to the environment,” or "Organic," but these claims are not completely true or legal. Products must be used correctly in order to live up to these promises. The Structural Pest Control Board of California has written regulations to keep companies from claiming to be, “safe,” “harmless” or “nontoxic to humans” because any material that kills pests is a pesticide and potentially harmful. Before you hire a Pest Control company to service your home, check their references and be sure they are Board Certified and licensed by the State of California.
